Loan Officer

What You’ll Be Doing (aka your everyday impact)
- Build and nurture relationships with community leaders and referral partners
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities
- Meet with prospective borrowers to understand their goals and funding needs
- Collect and review financial documents to support sound lending decisions
- Analyze creditworthiness and evaluate collateral
- Structure loan terms and negotiate agreements that work for everyone
- Prepare and present loan proposals for management approval
- Deliver timely application review and excellent communication (no ghosting borrowers — we’re all adults here)
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to applicants and small business owners
- Connect with and occasionally present to the Board
- Volunteer and stay visible in the community we serve
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
- You have two years of experience in small business lending, underwriting, commercial banking, business, or community development finance.
- You have a background of underwriting and an understanding of financial analysis, cash flow analysis, and collateral evaluation.
- You have strong time management and organizational skills as well as a high level of attention to detail – especially while working remotely.
- You can work effectively with community-based organizations, banks, CPAs, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and public sector administrators.
- You possess impeccable personal integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality of borrower data.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
